We honor Makenna’s memory by helping women in need get ahead in life.
Makenna Goodwin was born January 19, 1998 in Orem,
Utah to Rebecca and Chris Goodwin. She was the
second
oldest of seven children and grew up in Saratoga Springs,
Utah. She attended Westlake
High School where she was
very involved with Theatre and Student Council. She
served as a
missionary in the Maryland Baltimore
mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints in 2017-2018. She graduated from the
Cosmetology program at MTECH in Lehi, UT and was
named the 2019 Student of the Year for all of the MTECH
campuses. She was always happy, full
of light, and eager
to share that light with others through love and service.
She adored her
family and friends, spending every free
minute with them.
Makenna passed away on February 19, 2021 from
injuries received in a tragic car accident. The day
before the accident, she expressed to her mom her
great desire to start a non-profit company
to help
women in need get an education, learn a trade, or
start a business. No one
realized this would be her
last wish. To honor Makenna's memory, our family
and close
friends have united to create this non-profit
organization, dedicated to helping women in need get
ahead in life.
